Overall it was ok - the Kayak part was nice - muddy walk through the jungle (not fun) - waterfall legit - our guide was very nice - you need to be really fit to do this trip (not really for kids)
We were only the second tour group of the day to arrive at the waterfall, so it wasn't crowded at all. Most groups seemed to come in when we were about to leave. My suggestion would be to pick the 7 AM tour over a later one.
The 7 AM Secret Falls Kayak Tour was a great experience!
There a bunch of tours of the Wailua River and falls. Tom was very knowledgeable, helpful, and attuned personally. His recommendations for the evening (Hanalei and Postcards Restaurant) were also right on.
They provided dry bags for what we took with us.
There was enough time for everyone to take a little dip in the water, take pictures, and eat lunch. Plus one for fresh pineapple!
Our guide Andrea made this excursion super pleasant! Shared some fun facts about the environment, great conversationalist, and even shared her extra water with us. We unfortunately did not have our water, chips, and cookie (due to a bit of confusion, neither here nor there) but she happily shared her extra bottle with my friend and I, without any hesitation. Good times and great customer service!!!!
Would recommend. DO NOT Wear flip flops and listen to the guide.
Took a Kayak with a guide and a small group for an afternoon. Kayaks were great and the lunch the provided was good.
Our guide Ryan was very friendly and easy-going, and since everyone in our group was in good shape he pretty much let us do our own thing during the kayaking part.
The hike through the "jungle" is fairly easy. Although the trail can get a little muddy, so I would suggest wearing non-slippery shoes. During the hike, Ryan gave us information about the plants in the area.
