Had a wonderful time renting our private canoe for the day. We got there before noon which gave us plenty of time to get to the waterfall and back. We were given proper instructions before leaving the dock and were able to see some of this beautiful locations without being surrounded by all the other guided kayak tours which can be 40+ people at times. I highly recommend renting from kamokila because they are right on the river for easy get in and go. Staff is also very friendly and we enjoyed chatting with them a lot.
We toured the village and ran into Ilima while walking around. She was absolutely amazing and knew so much about not only the village, but Kaua‘i and the Hawaiian islands. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and it was well worth the $5 admission.
I came to the village for kayak/Boat rental. The person at the desk asked me to come back at 1pm as there are none left at that time(11am). I returned back at 12:40pm as suggested. The staff member who asked me to come back was not there. I was told, there were no boats/kayaks left for the day. If there were none left for the day i wish i was told the same when i first visited. This is such a bad experience for my family. I would have made alternate plans if I were to know the info sooner Nd not kept waiting.
Hands down the best choice of company to rent from for the river. They were very friendly and helpful. They are located closer to the waterfalls so you don't have to paddle as far if you don't want to. You get way more time with your rental for a much better price than the other outfits. We will definitely use them again.
Cool place with a wide variety of things to do. $5 to walk around the Hawaiian village and learn all about traditional culture. $35 for canoe rentals for the day which give you access to amazing sites along the wailua river. Be careful driving down to the village, road is steep, one lane wide and not well maintained
