We stopped at the bench just beyond the 1.25 mile marker and we're debating whether or not to continue to the top. Decided to trudge forward, and we both are VERY happy we did! Amazing views to the West (beaches/ocean) and to the East (mountains/valleys). Highly recommend this hike! Bring plenty of water, you'll be sweating!
Nice hike through a mostly shaded area. Great view at the end. Make sure to bring water. You can park on the side of the road by the trail head
If you are in good shape it can be done in about 35 min but at a slow steady walked about 50 min. It can be slippery and muddy after a good rain or during, so be careful.
A beautiful hike. You have your options of 3 different hikes with varying difficulties to ascend the Sleeping Giant. The shortest being about 1 mile and is perfect for a sunrise or sunset hike to the top of the chin.
Awesome hike if you want to a nice workout that isn't took long with a great reward at the end. It's especially great to ascend before sunset and watch the sunrise from the top.
Dogs are allowed. There is even a beautiful Labrador who hikes it almost daily names Pele. She is a strong one!
Well worth the climb! If it's wet and you are nervous about heights, you may not want to risk this. However, in dry conditions it's pretty easy.
