It doesn't look like much, and if you blink you might not know you've passed it. But don't miss out on this gem. Best bbq chicken, ribs and sauce on the island (or in most cities). Super nice people own the place and work there. We stop here often on our island visits.
I was looking to eat some fried chicken while in Kauai, when I overheard two guys talking about a chicken place. When I asked them about it, they told me this was the place and described it as a hole in the wall with great chicken. Looked it up, saw the reviews, and gave it a try. It was pretty tasty... but when you are in the mood for something fried, it won't hit the spot. My review is a little bias since I am not the biggest fan of smoked meats.
It is a good setup... Basically a step up from a food truck. Overall, nicely priced delicious BBQ with an island twist.
The delicious smell of BBQ draws you in... And then the food is delicious and the prices are reasonable!! Two of us shared the sampler plate and it was plenty for sure... Even included a cup of chilly!! Also had a kids burrito and that was also really nice size.
Huge portions, best bbq I've had in awhile and the staff are super friendly. You can't go wrong with this place. The pricing can seem a little high but there are more expensive places on Kauai with worse food, so for the quality and portions you're getting at Chicken in A Barrel BBQ is completely worth it.
