Best food we had all week...and we had good food. Loved it so much we went back on our last night. 5 star food & service to match. Andrew was fabulous.
We had arrived for dinner the first night of our honeymoon on the island, and ran into a few issues. Thankfully nothing could ruin a night on such a beautiful island, but a few bad eggs tried.
Loved the food, drinks, everything! Our waitress Sandra was perfection! We asked about a different preparation for our fish and she made it hapoen for us. No fuss. She was so kind and attentive. Best meal we've had on Kauai.
Overall the food and atmosphere were very nice. Maybe a small rule about rowdiness at a quiet restaurant are in order though, to keep it a little more inviting if we find our way back to the area.
Beautiful setting. Wonderful and reasonably priced tasting menu. Food was excellent. A perfect choice for a special occasion meal. Parking convenient - valet not necessary.
The bigger issue we were a miffed at, was a family of 5 sitting near us that were allowed to very loudly watch a UFC fight on their phone, at full volume, while yelling in excitement to each other loudly about the results. Not sure the restaurant ever said anything to them, but it was a little obnoxious after an hour of this, and we were glad when they left. As were the many other tables of patrons around us.
We love the Hukilau Lanai. My wife and I usually visit here on our Anniversary and the food, environment and staff never disappoint. They have some of the best, if not the best dishes on Kauai, and although rather pricey, the quality of the food is worth it. Highly recommend the lobster bisque and filet mignon. Also highly recommend making reservations as this place is almost always busy to capacity. Very romantic setting and live music at night.
First off, we had reserved a table ahead of time over the phone, and when we arrived we were asked to wait a few more minutes. That was no issue, however after an hour of waiting and sitting in the lounge in front of the reception area and having a drink, we were told our names had been called and we missed it. That was OK though, because we enjoyed the live music and drinks, and quickly got a table after speaking with the restaurant again.
