Amazing bar tenders and great service. Our bar tender made this place really fun for us. We stayed about an hour there and over that period, she made us 3 different shots, on the house. Great conversation and amazing fries. I'd come back here just for their French fries. They have have sage in them. Who does that!?

A little in the pricy side, but I had a great time and I'll come back here for sure next time I'm in Kauai.
On a side note if you're a glass is half empty kind of person, don't bother you'll hate it.
I absolutely love The Local! I have had almost everything on the menu by now, plus they change the menu so often there is always something new to try. The Empanadas are the stuff of dreams, a must have. I am a big fan of their hand crafted cocktails and the atmosphere is just perfect and always a fun time. Highly recommend!
Food is good. It has a distinct Vietnamese influence. One star was taken off because the "fresh squeezed" cocktails are not balanced. They are creative but very watery. Not watered down just a watered down taste.
The owners chef Erin is an amazing&talented culinary artist. Healthy flare using local products and exciting flavors. Also damn good at preparing comfort foods. Based on this alone I recommend it, however there is more. Unique and flavorful cocktails that actually do cock your tail and a warm atmosphere make it pleasant to patron. this wonderful vibe is all created at the entrance when you ate grated by owner José who is super friendly accommodating and refreshingly genuine in his interest of you and your experience at their restaurant. Is kid friendly great food helpful staff and if you go the 1st Saturday of the month you can enjoy artwalk with live music and wide variety of artwork. Go, enjoy, appreciate! Kauai as why.
The menu underlines dishes largely based on local production. They do a great job with a fairly small space. Good service, unique cocktails. I would avoid the grassfed hamburger, very dry beef, impossible to hold, strange jelly drips out of it. The "truffle" fries are probably best skipped for the regular ones, there may be truffles in the aioli, I could not taste it though. That said, I like the place and plan to return.
